The 2nd ISPAD Postgraduate Course in Greece “An Update on Diabetes and Obesity in Children and Adolescents” was successfully held at the Harokopio University of Athens

The 2nd ISPAD Postgraduate Course in Greece “An Update on Diabetes and Obesity in Children and Adolescents,” was successfully held on April 4–5, 2025, at the Harokopio University of Athens.

This distinguished seminar which brought together 220 healthcare professionals from 11 different countries was a dynamic hub of learning, exchange of views and experiences and enhanced networking, equipping young researchers and health professionals with the latest knowledge on childhood and adolescent diabetes and obesity.

The main program was further enhanced by three high-impact interactive workshops, as well as an event for families of children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes, organized in collaboration with the Panhellenic Association for the Fight against Juvenile Diabetes.

The event was organized by the Athens Pediatric Center of the Athens Medical Group, in collaboration with the Postgraduate Program “Applied Nutrition and Dietetics” of Harokopio University of Athens, under the auspices of the International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD), the Hellenic Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Endocrinology and the Hellenic Diabetes Association.

The Postgraduate Program “Applied Nutrition and Dietetics” warmly acknowledges the Pediatric Center of the Athens Medical Group for its outstanding collaboration throughout the organization of the event, the Scientific Societies for their auspices, and the sponsors for their invaluable support. Special thanks are also extended to the distinguished speakers and session chairs, as well as to all participants, whose enthusiastic engagement greatly contributed to the success of the course.

Through its active involvement and hosting of this international scientific event, Harokopio University of Athens once again demonstrated its commitment to academic excellence and leadership in education and research in the fields of nutrition, health, and public health.
