We are delighted to announce the remarkable first participation of the Harokopio University of Athens in the prestigious NAFSA 2024 Annual Conference & Expo, held in New Orleans, USA, from May 28 to 31, 2024, the world’s largest exposition for international education and internationalization!
Harokopio University of Athens, one of the nine Higher Education Institutions representing Greece, actively participated in the Study in Greece (SiG) delegation at NAFSA 2024. The Institution, represented by its Rector, Professor Mara Nikolaidou, had a remarkable presence and successful participation in the rich program of events, conferences, workshops, and various activities. Τhis landmark event served as a premier platform for our Institution to illuminate its academic programs, cultivate international collaborations, and garner invaluable insights into global educational trends.
The Institution’s dynamic representation was noteworthy at the roundtable discussion “A New Era in the US-Greek Academic Collaboration: Short-term Study Abroad Programming”. The event was organized by the IIE (Institute of International Education), in collaboration with SiG and the Greek Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, with the support of the US Embassy in Greece. This discussion-workshop facilitated a productive dialogue between Greek and American universities, offering a valuable opportunity for the exchange of good practices and experiences, aimed at strengthening existing collaborations and cultivating new ones. The discussion was attended by the Ambassador of Greece to the USA Aikaterini Nassika, who visited the Greek booth, underlining Greece’s commitment to becoming a global education destination.
Our exceptional participation at NAFSA 2024 signifies a turning point in the global recognition of Harokopio University of Athens and will undoubtedly pave the way for even greater academic achievements!
