Successful Completion of the ECO4ALL 1st Training School “Empowering Youth for Consumer Safety and Circular Economy” at the Harokopio University of Athens

The ECO4ALL 1st Training School: Empowering Youth for Consumer Safety and Circular Economy took place at the Harokopio University of Athens on February 12-14, 2025, with great success.

 

The conference was organized by the EUROPEAN COOPERATION IN SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY Cost Action CA22124 ECO4ALL with the active cooperation of the Department of Economics and Sustainable Development of Harokopio University of Athens.

This comprehensive program is designed to empower early-career researchers with theoretical knowledge and practical skills, equipping them to drive innovation and sustainable change in their respective fields.

The Training School brought together a diverse group of eight (8) trainers and eighteen (18) trainees from various European countries, fostering a dynamic environment for knowledge exchange and collaboration.

The organization of this significant initiative was overseen by:

  • Professor Olesea Plotnic, on the part of the ECO4ALL, and
  • Professor Roido Mitoula, on the part of Harokopio University of Athens.

Program Highlights

The Training School focused on key issues related to sustainable consumption and the circular economy, covering the following core topics:

1. Community-based circular economies and their societal impact.
2. Circular economy policies in urban environments, with practical case studies from Greece and Europe.
3. Advanced economic analysis techniques for circularity metrics.
4. The Nordic experience and its lessons for empowering sustainable consumption.
5. Strategic development and implementation of circular economy policies using SWOT analysis.
