On the 7th and 8th of November 2024 the #kick–#off #meeting of #project #TRIFFID (auTonomous Robotic aId For increasing FIrst responDers efficiency) was organized at the premises of the Harokopio University of Athens, where the Department of Informatics and Telematics acts as the #project #coordinator.
TRIFFID targets the development of an integrated approach for maximizing the efficiency of first responders’ field operations, by advancing remote and #smart #robotic #reconnaissance in disaster sites, while integrating it into European civil protection procedures.
The core goal involves the development of a hybrid legged #UGV (unmanned ground vehicle) and #UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) robotic platform for autonomous real-time inspection in dynamic environments.
The TRIFFID system will be demonstrated in three different real-world use-cases (UC), namely #wildfire, #flood and #earthquake #disaster scenarios.
