Harokopio University of Athens in the lead of Greek Universities, according to the annual World University Rankings 2022!
Harokopio University of Athens achieved three milestone distinctions in the annual World University Rankings 2022, during its very first participation, as part of the context of the implementation of its strategic goals.
Harokopio University of Athens was ranked first, winning the title of the best University in Greece, among the thirteen (13) Greek Institutions that participated in the annual ranking. In addition, Harokopio University won two more outstanding awards, being placed in the 351-400 series among the 1662 Universities in total and gathering an impressive 93% for its citations in scientific/research work and thus, occupying the 64th place in the world ranking, as a reflection of the quality of its research work. It is worth noting that for this year’s World University Rankings 2022, more than 108 million citations were analyzed in more than 14.4 million research publications and responses to surveys were further included by almost 22,000 researchers worldwide.
These outstanding achievements were highlighted at the beginning of September 2021, by the Journal “Times Higher Education” in the annual World University Rankings for 2022, which is considered one of the most valid global rankings in terms of evaluating the performance of top Institutions around the world.
We are particularly pleased and proud that Harokopio University has managed to stand out among top Institutions from 99 countries worldwide, which competed in performance evaluation of areas such as teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international perspectives.
The Rector’s Office of Harokopio University congratulates all the members of the Academic Community, Professors, students, and administrative staff for the excellent result, which was a product of collective work, dedication, and determination under difficult conditions, not only due to the effects of the financial crisis but also the negative consequences of COVID-19 pandemic.
