Collaboration agreement between HUA and CERN 
HUA and CERN proceeded to a long-term collaboration in projects related to research in the field of Computer Science and its applications.
We welcome the collaboration agreement between Harokopio University and the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), one of the world’s leading global laboratories in applied physics, computing, and engineering.
This agreement is of vital interest, as it establishes the cooperation between the two Institutes and allows the development of a varied range in joint projects related to research in the field of Computer Science and its applications, as well as in other areas of mutual interest.
As part of the agreement, the first Project shall comprise tasks pertaining to the CERN Information Technology Department (“CERN IT Department”) which is responsible for providing the information technology required for the fulfillment of CERN’s mission in an efficient and effective manner. This includes data processing and storage, networks and support for the LHC and non-LHC experimental program, as well as services for the accelerator complex and for the whole laboratory and its users. It also provides a ground for advanced research and development of new IT technologies, with partners from other research institutions and industries.
With this agreement, HUA and CERN will further cooperate towards joint activities that will contribute to the mission of promoting Research and Innovation at the forefront of human knowledge.
