We are pleased to announce that the Department of Informatics and Telematics has successfully hosted the 9th Working Group & 8th Management Committee Meeting of the COST Action NEWFOCUS (CA19111) from 4/3/2024 to 5/3/2024.
The NEWFOCUS project aims to establish optical wireless communications (OWC) as an efficient technology that can satisfy the demanding requirements of backhaul and access network levels in beyond 5G networks.
The meeting was organized by the Dean of the School of Digital Technology of Harokopio University of Athens Professor Thomas Kamalakis. On the first day, the Rector of the Harokopio University of Athens, Professor Maria Nikolaidi, delivered a welcome address. During the meeting chaired by Professor Mohammad-Ali Khalighi, various aspects of the project were discussed including short term scientific missions, the progress of working groups, synergies with other COST initiatives and followup actions.
